2004 Hadley Delta Calendar Print by tiggerntatie
This 2004 calendar includes a series of key photographs, showing the exact location on the moon where this photograph was taken. The calendar photo caption reads as follows: 30 July 1971 -- One hundred and four hours after liftoff from Cape Kennedy, David Scott and James Irwin flew the Lunar Module "Falcon" to a landing in the Apennine Mountains. After landing, Scott and Irwin had a limited view through the LM windows of a hummocky terrain with a few distant mountain peaks. Two hours later, Scott poked his head through the docking port in the "roof" of the LM to make a 360 degree survey of the site, taking this wide angle photograph of Mt. Hadley Delta, 3 miles to their South and towering more than 2 miles above them. Calendar (c) 2003 by Eric Dennison. Photo Credits: The Hadley Delta photo is a composite prepared by E Dennison from NASA photos AS15-87-11748 and AS15-87-11753. Original photography by David Scott. Scans by David Harland via Kipp Teague. Index photos (Left to Right): UCO/Lick Observatory, E Dennison, E Dennison, NASA (metric photo AS15-414), NASA (AS15-87-11718)
