Sabbatique is devoted to the images, designs and arts intrinsically inherent and peculiar to the ancient traditions at the very heart of our unapologetically European heritage, the fragmentary vestiges, tattered remnants and often buried or deliberately obscured traces preserved in folklore, oral re-tellings, bawdy songs, and bad poetry that have survived the various purges, pogroms and inquisitions that have sought to extinguish its lingering embers. The sabbat is a reality, not quite in the way most people would be comfortable with such a thing, but then that is part and parcel of its nature, as an in-between thing, both as an ancient echoing memory in our blood and a re-kindled fire of inspiration that seeks expression through each of us on unique and fresh terms.
