Art is what I do to relax. I prefer to work in graphite or acrylic at this time, though I do dabble with other mediums from time to time. My topics focus mainly on pregnancy, babies, birth and animals. I do branch out occasionally into other areas for fun.

I believe that birth is a sacred event in a woman's life. With the cesarean rate going up every year, more than 1 in 3 babies are now born surgically, robbing both mom and baby of a transformative experience that helps the baby adapt to life outside the womb and fills mom with the hormones to prepare her for the work of motherhood.

My artwork is being shown as part of the ICAN "Cesarean Voices" traveling exhibit. I hope that I can join with other artists to visualize what this truly means to mothers and babies all over the world. Cesareans are wonderful when they are needed, but they should not be done on a whim.
