Zazzle Names Costume Contest Winners of 101st Annual Zazzle Bay to Breakers Race

Costume Contest Attracts Record 1,000 Entries in Individual and Group Categories

Redwood City, Calif. - May 30, 2012 - Zazzle, the title sponsor of the 101st Zazzle Bay to Breakers 12k foot-race, today announced the costume contest winners of its May 20th event. Grand-prize winners Caela Timinsky and Jenna Munguia, sporting Zazzle tattoos and matching Zazzle capes, won the ‘Be-Zazzled Costume’ award and a $1,000 Zazzle shopping spree. The ‘Best Overall Individual Costume’ award and a $750 Zazzle shopping spree went to Brian Keilig for his annular solar eclipse outfit.

Other notable costume contest winners include a group dressed up as a German sausage centipede and pieces from the board game Clue. The ‘Best Overall Group’ award was given to group dressed up as San Francisco City Neighborhoods and an honorable mention went to a group dressed as the Muppets.

“Just, wow. Thank you to everyone in San Francisco and the greater Bay Area for making the 101st Zazzle Bay to Breakers one of the most memorable events in recent years,” said Zazzle co-founder, Jeff Beaver. “Our team cherished the opportunity to celebrate the creativity of all participants throughout ZOMG week before the race, as well as in the costumes presented on race day. Congratulations to the 2012 individual and group costume contest winners and thanks to everyone who participated in the event!”

The costume contest was judged by several notable San Francisco media personalities including FOX TV news anchor, Dave Clark; Star 101.3 on air personality, Jon Manuel; and Wild 94.9’s on air personality, Katrina B. Also on the panel were some of Zazzle’s quirkiest employees, including Lord Matson, Duchess Duke, Grossy the Great, and Baron Burgess.

Prior to the Zazzle Bay to Breakers 12k, Zazzle hosted ZOMG, a vibrant, city-wide series of local events at San Francisco-area venues, parks and other establishments. By partnering with dozens of local businesses and venues, Zazzle was able to make this year’s race an extraordinarily fun and unique event.

Plans for a 2013 race are underway. Those interested in learning more or participating in future events can visit: http://www.ZazzleBaytoBreakers.com.
