Zazzle and The Picture People combine forces to deliver the ultimate custom product experience with professional portraits
Picture People customers can now personalize hundreds of Zazzle custom products with their portraits
taken at any of over 300 studios nationwide.
Palo Alto, CA - November 6, 2006 - Zazzle, (www.zazzle.com), the internet's Creativity Marketplace, today announced a strategic partnership with The Picture People, one of the nation's largest retail portrait studio chains, to make the Zazzle Product Engine available to Picture People customers online, as well as selected Zazzle custom products available for sale in studio.
Available immediately, Zazzle's online design tools and just-in-time digital printing will enable Picture People customers to turn their studio portraits into one-of-a kind US postage stamps, apparel, cards, mugs, mouse pads, stickers, and more. Customers will be able to choose from over 350 photo products which can be personalized online, and are produced within 24 hours. In addition, The Picture People and Zazzle will provide all customers with a personal store, where they can upload and share their personal content, in addition to their studio portraits.
"We are thrilled to bring the Zazzle experience to Picture People customers nationwide," said Robert Beaver, CEO and co-founder of Zazzle.com "The best professional portrait studio photography has met its match with Zazzle's commitment to the best quality products available. In a matter of minutes, a customer can turn their portrait into a work of art."
Zazzle and The Picture People will provide an integrated end-to-end experience for all Picture People studio customers. Once a Picture People portrait session has been completed, the customer's images will be uploaded to The Picture People's SmileStore store where users will utilize the Zazzle Product Engine to design products and share the images with family and friends.
"The partnership is a natural extension of the Picture People brand," says Charles M. Masson, CEO of The Picture People. "Over the past year we've seen an increase in the number of customers viewing and sharing their portraits online, and now we can enrich that experience by inspiring users to turn portraits into one-of-a kind keepsakes. We look forward to launching the new service this fall to kick-off the holiday season with new gift ideas, including postage stamps for your family's holiday cards."
In support of the partnership, Zazzle also announced many new additions to their family of customized products. Thirteen new product categories, including mouse pads, hats, stickers, magnets, buttons, bags, aprons, bumper stickers, ties, photo statues, photo prints, photo enlargements and standard frames are immediately available for customization using the Zazzle Product Engine.
