Barbara Anne Applegate, is a self taught artist, starting her painting career in the late 1960's. Barbara was born in Texas, raised in New Mexico, she has lived in Oregon since 1981 so she paints with a well rounded experience of having lived in various parts of the country, it gives her a familiarity with nature of those areas .Barbara’s art is a reflection of who she is, and what makes her tick., she offers unique original oil paintings painted in an Impasto style with strong use of the pallet knife, and limited edition prints from the pallet of Award Winning Artist, Barbara's compositions with her use light and color that have attracted private collectors.

Oil Painting is my preferred medium. In 1997 I start creating computer generated dog animation I am now using some of my old artwork I used to create my Zazzle products. And now I have come full circle, In Barbara’s artwork, you will find her most comfortable painting animals, landscapes and seascapes with flair of the southwest where I grew up.
