Solomon Joseph Solomon was a British painter of the Pre-Raphaelte movement and was a student and follower of Alexandre Cabanel. He died in 1927 at the age of sixty-seven yerars. The original painting is in the Ballarat Fine Art Gallery in Victoria, Australia.
