Ancient Roots Postage by northwest_photograph

Along the Interurban Trail that winds through Whatcom County in Washington state, there are small pockets of old trees that escaped logging. This is one we named "Grandmother Tree" because she was so old we couldn't fit all of her in the photograph, but her massive roots were worthy of their own place of honor.
