The Archi-Ambulance team is aiming to raise money for registered charity GoHelp and to help with their essential work in Asia by supplying a working ambulance for use in Mongolia’s first Emergency Services fleet. The Emergency Services are something that we all rely on and perhaps take for granted in the UK. These vital services save lives every single day. In some parts of the world however, these services simply do not exist; Mongolia is one of these countries. GoHelp, a UK registered charity aims to provide Ambulances to countries such as Mongolia and with your help we can provide one of these vital emergency vehicles. As part of this fundraising event, the team must raise money to buy an ambulance which they must then drive themselves across Europe and Central Asia, to Mongolia; the ambulance is then donated to a provincial emergency service group upon arrival. The team has committed themselves to raising a minimum of £1,000 for GoHelp, as well as providing a functioning ambulance to be donated on arrival in Mongolia. We hope to raise as much money as possible through the generosity of individuals, philanthropists, companies and professional organisations to provide as high a quality vehicle as possible. Our team comprises of Calum Hill and Mark Hadfield. We are both recent graduates of the Scott Sutherland School of Architecture, Aberdeen. After our six years of study we decided to undertake a challenge of a different nature; a challenge that will raise money for a fantastic cause, provide an ambulance for a country setting up its first emergency services network and provide a personal test for ourselves. The journey which the team will be undertaking comprises of an overland drive of approximately 10,000 miles between London and Ulaanbaatar, the ancient capital city of Mongolia. This expedition will extend across two continents and pass through more than twenty nations. We will experience diverse cultures and varied and testing environments; from the hustle and bustle of European cities to the deserted plains and treacherous silt roads of Central Asia.
