Astaroth Postcard by octoberwitch
Third in my Fallen Angel series..... "Astaroth is assisted by four demons called Aamon, Prusias, Barbatos and Rashaverak. Astaroth is depicted as a nude man with dragon like wings, hands and feet, a second pair of feathered wings after the dragon wings, wearing a crown, holding a serpent in one hand and riding a wolf. Upon closer examination however it can be seen that the dragon like wings actually belong to a dragon he is riding. He seduces by means of laziness, vanity and rationalized philosophies. His adversary is St. Bartholomew who can protect against him for he has resisted astaroths temptations. He teaches mathematical sciences and handicrafts, can make men invisible and lead them to hidden treasures and answers every question formulated to him. He also is said to give to mortal beings power over serpents. Astaroth is the prince of accusers and inquisitors. August is the month during which this demon's attacks against man are stronger. He also goes by the name ‘Ashtart/Astarte which was rendered in the Latin Vulgate translation of the Bible. He is also thought to be a thinly disguisted goddess Astarte." -------------------------------------------------------- All artwork is copyrighted Kerri Ann Crau and can not be used in any way, shape or form without written permission from photographer. This means in layouts, tags, manipulation etc. I do take it as a compliment but I do not want it done. Thank you. I do however love feedback and comments! Excuse the name across the image!
