Serving the people and animals of our community for over twenty-five years, the Athens Area Humane Society is the only open-admission shelter in Athens, Georgia for cats, kittens, and other small domestic animals such as rabbits, rats and guinea pigs.

Each year, the Shelter cares for as many as 1800 abandoned and stray animals, striving to adopt as many as possible into loving, lifelong homes. Please look around and get to know your Humane Society.
