Or just to make it simple he grows about 5.3 inches a year. He was born on a sailing ship going over the ocean, They had visited a land with many unknown gems laying under the earth. The captain Of the sailing, The one who found him as an egg thought is was a giant opal Of some kind and thought it would be a nice gift for his beloved queen. During a small storm, under the full moon the opal moved and a chipping sound was to be heard. A tiny dragon black with a purple shine was born. When the storm layed to rest the captain goes into his cabin he hears a strange sound coming from his desk. He lit his oil lamp And looked at the corner when his desk. In the dim midnight oil lamp light his purple and black scales show off as he explores the desk he was born on. Turning his head to see a tall sailor looking at amazement at him. He only stared as the cool air made the baby dragon tired. The Captain kept him as a reminder of that day when he found him as an egg.
