I was commissioned to do a painting of a tiger, and I set about it just as I would with any commission- planning to put my best work into it while not getting attached to it. I failed at the latter. During the 40 hours I spent working on this piece I fell in love with this fictional wildcat. I imagined her personality (tigerality?), named her (Bagheera, after the Jungle Book character, even though that character was actually a Panther, the word "Bagh" means tiger in Hindi), and nearly cried when I had to pack her up and send her off. Luckily, thanks to my photographer friend, John Klycinski, I got an exceptional photograph of the piece so that I can have a reproduction for myself, and offer Bagheera's beauty to you.
