Donated by the Artist to the National Wildlife Foundation. | Ben Kon | Gibraltar is known for a lot of things. Along the way you are likely to meet some very defensive seagulls, colorful green-and-yellow butterflies, spiders who build funnel-shaped webs, and of course the Barbary Apes. Despite the fact that they've become as much a tourist attraction and regularly take food, handbags, cameras, and any number of other things from visitors, these are wild monkeys (Barbary Macaques) living within a nature preserve. Finding a baby ape with its parents was very special for me, and emphasizes their natural ability to adapt to a very unique environment.
