Plymouth series
The picture is of gorgeous pre-war (WW2) lane architecture and layout in Plymouth's Sutton ward. The cobbles are granite, as are the kerbs and gutters. The walls are limestone and, unfortunately, the pavement is metalled/asphalt circa 2000.Shepherds (Shepheard's) Lane almost certainly dates to pre-1860 as that's when it first appeared on ordnance survey maps. Taken in 2008
A really gorgeous and powerful composition that drags your eye to the Barbican in the distance and the Mayflower Steps where the Pilgrim Fathers set off for America in 1620, on the final leg of that famous journey!
