Bunny’s illuminating new show at the renowned Arthur Roger Gallery includes “African-American” takes on such notable works as Balthus’ Guitar Lesson and Matisse’s La Musique, as well as Afrocentric drawings about New Orleans. Its centerpiece is a stunning 16-foot-wide mural entitled Nint'Wardica—Bunny’s ambitious re-imagining of Pablo Picasso’s monumental Guernica. The artist describes Nint'Wardica as a disquisition about the “devastation on our culture by all different forces—violence, oil, hurricanes.”
