This shirt is a promotional tie in with the book, Beauty in a Scorched Land. All designer royalties from this shirt will be donated to the African projects of MATE/FCC. The shirt is made in Africa, from fairly traded African grown materials. The pictures that make up the cross on the front of the shirt were taken in Zambia by co-author of Beauty in a Scorched Land, Charlene Bueckert. The shirt is a colorful visual representation of Isaiah 58: 6-11. A brief explanation of the pictures.... Isaiah 58:10 "and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will be come like the noonday. Note the child picture, the ambulance picture, the sunrise picture at the top. Isaiah 58:11 "The Lord will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail." Note the flower and water pictures and of course, the cross is at the center of it all. Maybe you could use this shirt to provoke conversation about a subject that actually matters. Think about it.
