As recently having been misdiagnosed with breast cancer, it was a very real scare for me. Family members have survived it, friends have died from this dreaded disease. When the doctor misdiagnosed me with it, they pointed to x-rays which showed beautiful clusters of bright light. These clusters, I was told was what cancer looked like on an xray. So this artwork was designed as a symbol for those who have suffered from this disease and those who have overcome it. Half of all proceeds associated with this particular artwork will be donated to the University of Alabama's Cancer Center, Birmingham, AL.
