Value poster paper is great

Santa Cruz, CA, United States
12/11/2012
Product Quality: Excellent
Print Quality: Excellent
Recommended: Yes
Shipped on time: Yes
About the product:
I sampled all the poster paper types and my favorite, hands down, is value poster paper! It says "matte" but really it's semi-gloss. It's sturdy, thick paper with a semi-gloss sheen that can be painted over for artists without cracking.
About the print:
The print looks professional with the semi-gloss helping it really stand out. For my poster the words were large and therefore legible, but it appears the dpi is about 100 so I'd be worried with fonts getting too small.

Semi-gloss: not my favorite paper. I like Value Poster instead

Santa Cruz, CA, United States

Product Quality: Good
Print Quality: Good

Shipped on time: Yes
About the product:
As an artist, this paper surprised me in that I couldn't paint over it. The printing cracks severely when it gets wet / painted / gessoed. However as a non-artist the quality is still only "ok" as it feels a bit tacky for some reason. I much, much prefer "value poster paper" which feels just as sturdy, has the same semi-gloss look, but the printing doesn't feel tacky and it stays put when you paint on it.
About the print:
Vivid, glossy, sharp, detail is great.

Non-stretched canvas prints are great for mixed media artists.

Santa Cruz, CA, United States

Product Quality: Excellent
Print Quality: Excellent
Recommended: Yes
Recommended for: Myself
Shipped on time: Yes
About the product:
I'm an artist and I use prints as components in mixed-media artwork and this canvas print (NOT stretched - it came in a roll) became the foundation for several journal covers onto which I painted and sewed other elements. Sturdy, and since the canvas was rolled it went through my paper cutter & rotary cutter just fine.
About the print:
The printing on canvas looks great, a smooth, semi-glossy layer of printing feels almost like a thin acrylic. The backside is rough and the weave of the canvas is very apparent. The print can be over-painted without distorting the image.
