Dr. Jane Goodall was interviewed by Ira Flatow on NPR's 'Talk of the Nation - Science Friday' on September 27, 2002. During that interview a caller asked essentially if she believe in the existence of Yeti or Sasquatch. She replied, "... you're talking about a yeti or Bigfoot or Sasquatch... Well now, you'll be amazed when I tell you that I'm sure that they exist... Yeah. I've talked to so many Native Americans who all describe the same sounds, two who have seen them. I've probably got about, oh, thirty books that have come from different parts of the world, from China from, from all over the place..." Ira Flatow then asks if she always believed in bigfoot. Here reply, " Well, I'm a romantic, so I always wanted them to exist." I am a romantic as well and I too have always wanted them to exist. I also believe that we cannot dismiss all of the stories and sightings around the world. History has proven many animals once thought to be myth turned out to be real.
