HERE IS SOME INFORMATION ABOUT A FEW OF MY PAINTINGS.
THIS IS HOW THE PAINTING ABOVE (COTTAGE ON THE FENS)
CAME INTO BEING ~ THIS PAINTING ALMOST PAINTED ITSELF AND LOOKS DIFFERENT IN EVERY LIGHT.
I GOT UP AT TWO A.M. ONE MORNING AND STARTED THIS PAINTING.
I PAINTED THE COTTAGE AND THE MOUNTAINS.
THEN I PAINTED THE FIELDS WITH MUSTARD GROWING ON THE LEFT.
SOON THE POLLEN FROM THE MUSTARD FLOWERS COVERED EVERYTHING.
THEN THE TIDE CAME IN AND PULLED THE POLLEN TROUGH THE FENS
AND INTO THE WATER.
CLOUDS OF MIST COVERED THE SKY.
THEN ALL OF A SUDDEN A BREEZE FROM THE OCEAN
PARTED THE CLOUDS TO REVEAL A WONDERFUL DAWN.
Portland Head Light (A View From The Hill)
This is the painting that Portland Head Light uses in their advertisement in Portland Magazines Summer Guide. These gifts have been reproduced from my original watercolors. I painted this picture (A View from the Hill) at Fort Williams Park looking down from the hill where the huge American flag flies. If you haven’t seen this view I hope you do in the future, it’s really spectacular. A painting can be like a mini vacation it can take you away from the present and allow you to dream and relax and that’s good therapy for all of us. I hope you enjoy these gifts as much as I enjoyed making them for you.
