The address of CeC 2010: Shankar Barua Managing Trustee ~ The AeA B - 5 & 6 / 4563, Vasant Kunj New Delhi - 110 070 INDIA Entry to the 5th annual Carnival of e-Creativity by Asbjorn Lonvig: For some years now I have researched print on demand (POD) galleries around the world. I load my art work to the gallery and the gallery takes care of marketing, ordering, payment, printing and shipping. Manufacturing on demand The last couple of years I have focused on a new concept mentioned "manufacturing on demand" (MOD). In the concept "manufacturing on demand" the product is a clock, a shoe, a book, a skateboard etc. The product is not manufactured until you have ordered and payed the product. You may order as little as 1 product. There is no upper limit. You need not keep any product in stock. You order the number of products you need here and now. In conventional manufacturing you must produce large editions in order to reduce costs, and you must keep the number of different motifs at a minimum. In this MOD concept you can use as many motifs you like. In small and probably more importantly in large businesses the MOD concept opens up for individualization. In this sample of MOD the database of motifs and products are created by and maintained by me. Customization In my design process I allow customization, that is when you push the "Customize it" button you can customize images and texts. When you are customizing you can chose any motif from the database you like - just press "Add image" and the first image in 5 folders is shown. If you like to add an image from another folder press "view all" and the first image of all folders is shown. Click on the folder and you can see all the images contained in that folder. You can add any text you like, just press "Add text". Software The software product Zazzle.com from Palo Alto, CA, US is the POD/MOD- and Customization tool that is far most advanced in the marked. There are 6 POD/MOD supporting software products, 5 of them are from US and one is from Germany. The second best MOD supporting software is CafePress.com from San Mateo, CA 94404, US. Cafepress.com has a few highly usable facilities, that Zazzle.com doesn't. See the CafePress Carnival of e-Creativity POD/MOD-tool by Asbjorn Lonvig on Cafepress.com . Cafepress.com's best product is POD/MOD publishing of books. Sincerely, Asbjorn Lonvig Lille Fejringhus Studio/Gallery 8722 Hedensted Denmark
