Washington, D.C. Cincinnati school children report 35,539 American Elms for the honor roll of the American Tree Association to mark the sesquicentennial of the framing of the constitution. Professor Chester L. Miller of the Garfield School, and chairman of the Cincinnati City Beautiful Committee, presents the long list of names to the American Tree Association of Washington in front of the George Washington Elm which once stood at Cambridge, Massachusetts. Receiving the lists from Mr. Miller are Genevieve O'Connell and Adelene Smallwood. The American Tree Association says this is the biggest municipal tree planting in the sesquicentennial tree planting campaign. Photograph taken June 25, 1937.
