In 2005 I created a comic about two bored animals in a zoo, largely based on the zoos I remembered from my childhood. This was long before animal enrichment programmes, and I'd wondered what mischief the animals might actually get up to when we weren't looking.

The result was Dave - an idealistic soulful rhino who takes himself a bit too seriously, and Keanu - an excruciatingly cheerful and shallow tapir.

Anyway, the comic was only ever intended to be a one-off, a bit of frippery, but then people really liked the characters and all of a sudden I had enough jokes to write issue 2 - "Dave's Revenge". I'd just finished 2 when the title for 3 popped into my head. I published "Sleeping with the Bananas" in March 2009 and, you guessed it, as I finished formatting the last few pages I suddenly had the title for issue 4 "Squeaky Friday". This damn comic just won't die!

e.e.h.r. 1, 2 and 3 are available at UK anime and small press conventions, and will be available from www.panicroomcomics.com soon, (or you can drop me a line through this page and we'll sort something out), but in the meantime, and because several people have asked me to, here are some goodies featuring Dave, Keanu, Keanu's little cousin Trinity, and some random ET who shows up from time to time.
