Thanks for your interest in my art. Han Soon-Gahn, when written using Chinese characters, means "a moment" in Korean, Japanese and Chinese: a moment of paradise, peace, or even a moment of humor can be spotted everywhere around us. Other times one can also experience a moment of love of nature, faith in God and a hope for the future in these moments. In spite of life's toils, people want to find a moment of balance to get a chance to feel more positive: wild flowers in a used beer barrel on a hot cement street, white lilies along a hidden path, lonely forget-me-nots between the forlorn rocks or majestic water falls in a quiet nature walk. Even an unwanted snail among the plants is a picture of the balance of nature. These moments ought to be captured and treasured I started dabbling in watercolor since I was very young. I also majored in Applied Arts at a university I attended in Korea. At the university, I was exposed to sculpture, Asian art, oil painting and graphic design. Although most of my next 35 years were spent to raising my children and pursuing my teaching career, I continued to work on oil or acrylic painting whenever I could find the time. Now I'm thankful in my later years, to be able to express and share a joy of living on these cards in pen-and-ink and water color. I truly wish anyone who chooses my paintings will be blessed for many moments of love, faith and hope in their everyday walks of life. Each card is signed and will be sold in limited numbers.
