Original acrylic painting titled: Movie of Life (Scene Three)
This series started as a single commissioned painting ordered by a film editor. But I love movies with a passion and I could not help developing it into a fun unique series of four distinct paintings that all relate. A series of images that capture all four seasons and also capture how movies take us on a journey through life. Moving along a path from one scene to the next. From one experience, one set of circumstances to the next. A way of making sense of our busy worlds. A way of seeing the story as it flows behind all the crushing details of day to day modern life.
These colorful landscapes stand alone as individual works, but they are especially powerful in groupings, I think.
Also, as an amateur photographer myself, I think still photos also document and simplify life in a way that helps us see our circumstances differently. And even though most of us take digital photos, we remember curly orangy film strips as the origin of this media as well. So these paintings are relevant for photographers as well as filmmakers, film editors, film writers and movie producers, too.
Or just for movie lovers and film buffs like me! :)
