Francesco Guardi- The Lagoon from Fondamenta Nuove
This Baroque veduta titled, The Lagoon from the Fondamenta Nuove is made by the famous painter, Francesco Guardi using oil on canvas in 1759. He is considered to be among the last practitioners, along with his brothers, of the classic Venetian school of painting. In 1735, Guardi moved to the workshop of Michele Marieschi, where he remained until 1743. His works in this period included landscapes as well as figure representations.
