Fall is pumpkin time! I love looking at pumpkins, eating pumpkin pie, carving jack o’ lanterns, smelling that fresh pumpkin smell, eating the toasted seeds, and even sticking my hand into a cut pumpkin to scrape out all the gooey innards. The specimen in this photo is a Cinderella pumpkin; nicely orange with a bit of yellow at the top and a rather squat, flat shape. It almost looks like an ornamental gourd, but the same size as a pumpkin for carving. This variety grows about 25 to 30 pounds and has sweet, moist flesh.
