The face with vines and flowers protruding from his mouth is known as a Green Man. In this color photograph, the high relief sculpture is an architectural element that is part of a large planter atop a column. I wanted to highlight the sculpture, so I shot with my lens wide open (at its lowest F-stop number) to create a shallow depth of field. The resulting bokeh (out of focus circles of color) on the left side of the frame provide a nice background.
