Eric Bailey’s poignant work is bold, defiant and visually stunning.
Contradictions are a predominant theme as Eric combines a traditional academic fine art style with more contemporary subject matter. Both a Painter and Graphic Designer he is never committed to one particular medium, Eric takes an unconventional approach to his projects while priding himself on creative integrity. Whether using oils and brushes or computers and graphics, he blurs the line between commercial and fine art. His influences are as diverse as early San Francisco graffiti artists and eighties skateboard graphics to high fashion photography and classical art. Specific artists include Nicholai Fechin, Jamil GS, Marilyn Minter, Jim Philips and Barry Mcgee. Originally from San Francisco but now living in Los Angeles, Eric has earned the recognition of the fine art world as well as commercial world in which he works under the alias Growing Pains Studios. Clients include: Converse, Burton, Nike/Jordan, Adidas along with many others. Publications: Complex, Juxtapoz, The Empty, Cool’eh, DEFinition the art and design of hip hop, Black Book, 7x7, amongst others To view more of Eric’s work visit www.birdsandbullets.com Or check out this pod on Current TV: current.com/items/76366202_birds_bullets |
