Hannah Allison Cole 1762-1843 Stamp
Hannah Cole was one of the first pioneer women to permanently settle in central Missouri. In the winter of 1810 the recently widowed Hannah Cole led her nine children along the Boonslick Trail and stopped in the area of present day New Franklin. Crossing to the south side of the ice chocked Missouri River, Hannah and her children established a home and a fort that eventually developed into present day Boonville, Missouri. Hannah is known to many as the Mother of the Boonslick.
