HAVE A NAMASTE! T SHIRTS
HAVE A NAMASTE! T SHIRTS
Anyone can HAVE A NICE DAY, tell them to HAVE A NAMASTE instead. Disclaimer: Nathan Jon DeSisto designed this shirt but did not create the word namaste...................................... "Namaste is a common spoken greeting or salutation originating from India. It is a customary greeting when individuals meet, and a salutation upon their parting. Younger persons usually initiate the exchange with their elders. Initiating the exchange is seen as a sign of respect in other hierarchical settings. It is the common greeting in Nepal as well. When spoken to another person, it is commonly accompanied by a slight bow made with hands pressed together, palms touching and fingers pointed upwards, in front of the chest. This gesture, called Añjali Mudrā (or Pranamasana), can also be performed wordlessly and carries the same meaning." -edited definition from wikipedia...........................So what does the gesture mean? The gesture Namaste represents the belief that there is a Divine spark within each of us. The gesture is an acknowledgment of the soul in one by the soul in another. "Nama" means bow, "as" means I, and "te" means you. Therefore, Namaste literally means "bow I you" or "I bow to you."
