Welcome to Aksasora Gallery. Take your time and look around. Hopefully
there is something here to meet everyones tastes. All works are hand drawn/painted to give a more personal touch/feel. Also please visit Midwest Akita Rescue Society's website at; http://www.Akita.org to learn how you can help with Akita rescue. Whether volunteering, fostering or with financial donations. If you are considering adopting an Akita, their website will give great insight into the Akita breed. Akita's are a great and wonderful breed, but they are not a breed for everyone. Please research the Akita breed thoroughly before considering adopting. Twenty five ( 25 ) percent of all sales will be donated to MARS. Thank you. Also check out www.raffle4rescue.com and buy some raffle tickets for a chance to win some great prizes and help out Akita orphans. The name Aksasora was derived by taking the names of my three Akita's ( Aki, Sassy and Tora ) and morphing them together. Just a way to further show my appreciation of their companionship over the years. As for me, I am a self taught artist. I have been drawing for 40 plus years. About 7 ago I began painting. My early inspiration for painting was from Bob Ross, who showed painting techniques on PBS. I still use some of his techniques on pieces to this very day. Over the years I have taken the time to learn other techniques as well. My paintings are done in either Oil or Acrylics. I also use pen/pencil, colored pencil and markers on alot of works as well. Most of the paintings I have done are landscapes and wildlife. As an Akita owner I love doing pieces with Akita's. Whether it's a full portrait or a head portrait. I love showing both the whimsical and dignified look ot the Akita breed. Though I do use reference photos for the majority of my creations. I also love to just create something strictly from memory. Though it can sometimes be stressful, it still gives me great enjoyment just to be able to let fly with an idea. Though I do enjoy painting on canvas, I also love to paint on other surfaces as well. Ceramic and Marble tile is my favorite suface. For me, it adds a unique quality to my works and helps enhance the pieces. |
