Hounds Haven Basset Rescue is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, all volunteer run, no-kill rescue organization. We are located in Iowa and rescue Basset Hounds in need throughout the states of Iowa, Missouri, Kansas and Nebraska (other states too occasionally). We are NOT a shelter and list our Basset friends in need as a public service. All hounds reside in either temporary homes, shelters or with their current owners and are seen by appointment with their care providers.

Hounds Haven Basset Rescue's purpose is rehoming homeless Basset Hounds one at a time. Our mission is to safely, soundly and confidently rehome homeless hounds in Iowa and surrounding areas. Providing safe, secure foster homes and safe, secure travel when necessary. Assuring the hound is in good physical health and emotional health to the best of our knowledge and expertise. Confidently placing hounds in forever homes which have been thoroughly screened and interviewed to provide a loving forever home to a hound determined to be suited to the adopter's home.
