On 28 August 2007 there was a once in a lifetime opportunity, a lunar eclipse. You may be sure I was out there taking photos with my camera - and no tripod.
To shoot the moon I had to hold up the camera and keep holding it up. Before long my camera took on the weight of a small elephant and my arms felt like lead. But I persevered.
Out of 232 photos, only two were clear. The moon in the picture is a one in a hundred shot - number 104, to be precise.
The dead tree inhabited by bats photo was taken in the bat-infested Botanical Gardens. Available in assorted colours and also on T-shirts.
