I Ching Hexagram 10 Lu "Treading" Canvas Bags
I Ching Hexagram 10 Lu "Treading" Canvas Bags
Surrounded by the Fu Hsi Arrangement of the trigrams. The Lu hexagram, continuing with alertness. Symbolic variations include "treading", "being cautious", "treading (conduct)" and "continuing". Formed by the trigrams heaven over lake. the upper trigram is Khien and the lower trigram is Tui. It could be that everything is working out perfectly, or it could be that you find yourself beset by dangers and difficulties. Lu relates to the need to develop your social skills and to make sure that they are sincere and not insincere. The ancient Chinese used the analogy of treading on a tiger's tail "one treading on the tail of a tiger, which does not bite him. There will be progress and success". It was regarded as highly inadvisable to face a tiger head-on, but in extreme circumstances you might get away with treading on its tail.
