I Ching Hexagram 50 Ting "The Cauldron" Keychains
I Ching Hexagram 50 Ting "The Cauldron" Keychains
Surrounded by the Fu Hsi Arrangement of the trigrams. The Ting hexagram, establishing the new. Symbolic variations include "holding" and "the cauldron (vessel)". Formed by the trigrams fire over wind. The upper trigram is Li and the lower trigram is Sun. Ting is concerned with the provision of necessities for a community to exist harmoniously. Unlike Ching, which deals with the basics, Ting is about the "extras". The ancient Chinese saw this hexagram as being very auspicious. They also saw Ting as resembling the ceremonial cauldron used by the family on religious and special occasions. These cauldrons played an important part in Chinese culture, hence the fact that this hexagram conveys the idea of sociability and stability. As well as providing for the body Ting reminds you that the spiritual "extras" should not be overlooked.
