" A couple of clarifications--The HSUS doesn't own or operate shelters, so the decision of shelters to adopt our or euthanize pit bulls is not our decision. We do support the right of shelters to make their best decisions in accordance with their policies and experience. We have also changed our position on whether seized fighting dogs should have a second chance, and now support evaluation of individual dogs before decisions are made. tks.

I have an American Statfordshire Terrier and the fact is she is a wonderful dog very gentle, loves the baby bunnies and mothers the kittens not a mean bone in her. 5*s

Actually, The HSUS does NOT support breed bans and has always said they don't address the core problems. If you go to www.humanesociety.org and put "breed bans" (use the "") in our search engine, you'll find lots of into about our position on this. thanks.

Interesting comments. I did some research -the Vick dogs were saved and are being taught how to be good kids at Bet Friends Animal Shelter in Utah.

I ordered these a couple months back - I've had nothing but great feedback from those I've mailed to (even the postal workers!). Great way to spread the word about these beautiful dogs.

Great message! I have a friend who has a deaf pit that was abandoned on her doorstep when she was a puppy. She is the sweetest dog ever and very smart...I helped my friend teach her sign language for commands. Terrible rep...because of stupid people...it is a shame.

I love that pittie but correct me if I am wrong but don't HSUS actually support and promote breed bans?
