Jessie was born in Germany in 1976. At a small age she already felt like a stranger, knowing that there must be more out there than what society was presenting to her. Instead of claiming her seat at the art academy in 1996, she took her mountain bike, a bag, her rasta hair and the little money that she had made at a skateboard shop and moved to Portugal because she loved the sunlight, heat and colors of the country. Always being pushed forward by her wild imagination and passionate creativity, she launched her first art show in Portugal. It turned out to be a surprising success when an art collector from London created a hype around her art. After that Jessie was busy with launching many exhibitions in various galleries until she felt that something was still missing.
So she started to go really deep within and locked herself away for a few years, with hardly any contact to the outside world, in order to detach herself from mass-consciousness and the art system. She intuitively knew that she needed to create that independency in order to fully find herself and be able to smash her inner world on canvas within her very own, unique and authentic style.
Jessie is well known to easily paint up to nine hours each day, seven days a week. In order to not die from the paint vapor - and yes, she also cleans her paintbrushes with her tongue when getting lost within her passionate painting style - she started to create breaks in which she designs and sews plush toys and textile accessories.
Today Jessie`s art could be best described as "Out of the box Art". In her acrylic and oil pastel paintings she melds various techniques and layers, combined with a strong sensitivity for color. In her artwork she creates figures, mostly animals, with human expressions and strongly souled eyes and lets them play out stories with strong meaning. Within the melding of many contrasts she creates a magic that sucks the observer into a different world, the world of a passionate outsider artist.
