I think that it's worth mentioning that verses taken from the Bible really do need to be read in context to the passage it is taken from or the verses often don't make any sense. Another fact worth noting is that most of the Bible really is rather dark, it wasn't sugar-coated to make people feel better about life, that philosophy came into being with the Enlightenment, the entire purpose of Jesus coming to earth was not to say "everything's going to be alright" it was to make us fully aware of hoe badly we screwed ourselves, the consequences of our mistake and that because of God's love for us, there was still a way for us to live in Heaven with Him. Another point is that even if most historical documents (including the bible, which was written with great care by people in that time period) were written 60-80 years after Jesus' death, that's not really any different than some other historical documents written sometimes hundreds of years later that are still widely accepted today, the only reason the Bible gets crap is because it questions an individual's personal beliefs. I know that saying these things won't change your mind, and I didn't write this intending to do so, however when I hear or see someone insulting my Heavenly father, I feel the need to defend him just the same as I would my earthly father. By the way, we're not all brainwashed fools that don't know any better than to believe in something we can't see, touch, or feel, trust me, we struggle just as much as the next person with God's existence. I have chosen my own path based on research and more importantly the undeniable things that God has done in my life, I may not be able to explain everything about God, but I don't let the unexplainable overshadow the undeniable.

Hey Macropus, no argument from me. Thanks for the comment. I agree with you. I think people are indoctrinated and brainwashed to NOT think or question their religion. Yes, I can't tell you how many christians pray for me and in the same breath tell me I'm going to hell. :P

SirLee... Religion is just accepted insanity. I think it's great to admit yourself against these "moral standards" I am atheist, but saying such to a die-hard Christian can cause much trouble I've been told I'm going to Hell multiple times. Regardless, I feel some people just "believe" because they're told so. Many famous free-thinkers, including Freud and Lincoln (Even Bruce Lee) have been atheists. I understand you very well, i read and i never understand those words, but man when you read closely you would understand God is talking to different types of people and cultures, there were the ones who believe but never give up things of this world, or the religious who believe there were doing all good, this Christianity way of living is just so brave, those who stand up for a strong believe of Jesus. But well..some of us just stand up for the easy, comfy way of leaving that doesn't harm nobody but our self. Jesus only defy minds to the limit, but some are to limited to understand. He must to understand us, right?

pzak51 and bornagainjim: stop buying into your own BS. If you want to live your life based on a work of fiction, there are an official metric boatload of better books out there. Lord of the Rings had nowhere near the amount of contradictions, better continuity, a much better & more cohesive plot, far more believable characters and was based on an all-around better developed mythology. Not to mention the movies & video games were WAY better too.

Yes, I've studied history and I've read the bible, unlike most christians. Caesar, Plato and Aristotle were all literate and left their own writings which help validate their existence. For each man, certainly not all accounts are totally accurate, but each had contemporaries who wrote about the men as well. Not a single contemporary historical account mentions Jesus. Even the gospels were written by men 30-80 years after Jesus' supposed crucifixion. No one who wrote about him ever met him. And Jesus himself never wrote a single word. A man/god who was illiterate is interesting, to say the least. But more likely such a person never existed. The whole christian faith is based on hearsay, myth and legend and stories cobbled together from religions in the surrounding area that predate christianity by thousands of years. The quotes used on this design are straight out of the new testament. You're just mad because we use the same source to support our facts that you use to support your religion based on lies.

No evidence that Jesus existed, what a bold statement! I'm assuming you have investigated the facts, or is it just wishful thinking, hoping to make it so? Did Caesar, Plato, or Aristotle exist? There is more concrete extra biblical evidence for Christ than any of those that you accept on faith. As for the verses on your shirts, you need to quit reading other peoples mail, you are unable to understand the context.
