Store Description
All his life Kirk Starr dreamed of being a professional artist, despite his parents' continual insistence that "an artist cannot eat the fruit he paints." When Reagan made it impossible for him to get a student loan and his folks refused to pay for art school, Kirk majored in something even more ridiculous: English. Today, Kirk is a professional graphic artist and illustrator with an appreciation for irony.
Kirk resides near Seattle, Washington, with one woman, two children, three dogs and some cats. He was born the same year the pilot for Star Trek was aired and despises seafood. Kirk eats other kinds of meat only because he doesn't have to kill it himself.
Inspired By
Drawing inspiration from artists such as Hieronymus Bosch, Balthus, Dali, HR Giger, Hajime Sorayama and BROM, Kirk's art usually involves dark, ominous imagery, surreal juxtapositions, or sensual female forms. On occasion, you'll get all three at once.
