"Dol" is a Korean tradition that celebrates the birthday of a 1 year old baby. We usually throw a very big party on the day, inviting relatives and friends. This image shows two toddlers who are dressed in Korean traditional costumes that are worn by babies on their very first birthday. In the background, you can see other objects such as sun, stones, water, clouds, a pine tree, bamboos, turtles, a crane, mountains, and herbs. These ten things are called Sip-Jang-Seng in Korean, and they stand as a symbol for eternal youth and longevity. All my love and best wishes for babies in the world who will joyfully celebrate their first birthday!
