Lisa Lariviere Lorenz was born in Montreal, Canada and has been drawing and painting exuberantly since childhood and her talent expands over many years. She studied Advertising and Graphic Design at Concordia University. Her work led her outside the art world and she pursued a career with a major railway for 10 years. In 1996 she moved overseas with her husband and was given the opportunity to once again return to her love of the visual arts. She has lived and travelled all over the world and Basel, Switzerland, Seoul, Korea, Copenhagen, Denmark and South Africa were home for many of those years.
She has traveled extensively, meeting many interesting people and her international experience has given her a great insight into a multitude of cultures. Many of her paintings are based on her many travels and through her paintings she is able to share her impressions of such colorful places and memories.
Lisa uses radiant palette to create her colourful and stylized paintings. Her work is characterized by joyful compositions, exaggerated perspectives and her strikingly effective use of colours and pattern. You will also discover the interesting use of the "cloisonnism” technique in her compositions where she outlines her shapes and design with a bold contour emphasizing her artwork. Her playful, lively, vivid compositions all evoke in us a sense of happiness and a smile. Her paintings are consistently fun to look at and are guaranteed to brighten up your day.
