Besides, as far as the shoes, where would we be without our feet. Our feet carry the whole burden of life daily. Our feet, disigned to carry us upright, may be at the base of our bodies, but remember, without the base of the mountain, there would be no peak to strive for. But I'm not a devout anything. Maybe I could call myself a humanist, I don't know. But I do not see your creations as being disrespectful. That's just my opinion.

hmm.. i've read all the comment. i'm buddhist But i understand both side of thinkings. i have 2 say that sorry that if some buddhists will go hot-headed like that and post some strong comment on ur product, since buddha is like the mind - understanding and self - regarding symbol 4 them in some point. And in Thailand it's their culture thinkin' that feet is the lowest part of the body so it's not worth 2 put the symbol they regard as the highest on the lowest part. it's something like rude action 4 them so they gone angry like that. Just so you know, that's what i wanna explain and i understand u and zazzle since here is World community not every people feel or think like the way orthers do. so there would be some misunderstanding. And i think that for that newspaper, they just sold their news, makes something 2 pop from day by day then it pasted by just like many of newspaper in thailand so i don't think u get it seriously. here we are in the art ground. it's all about art and inspiration. it's a free creative ground. what could be possibly be more sacred than creative freedom? what could be more divine than the act of creation?

There are many images of religion on many different things. I see images on jackets, socks, hats, posters, cups, etc.etc. So in contrast to what people are saying, that the image or images should not be placed on a shoe, it would be biased and therefore no image of any religious base should be represented on any article. So is there a specific person that one should go to that will give permission on what is acceptable? you..webrioter? or how about g10000? NO it should be reviewed as an individuals art and respect that. There are rugs out there that have religious icons on them and people walk on them daily.....maybe go boycott them if you want to make your argument accurate and true to what YOU all believe to be the right way. I personally think this piece of art is fantabulous! 5*s

Im not here to debate you but to simply point out that all my art in all my galleries shows nothing but the highest respect for all life on earth, plants animals people and religion. I consider buddha a very sacred symbol myself and I ask you if buddha is sacred and wise and special does he put himself above or below anyone of us? i deeply respect Buddhism, as much as all religions, but i have a special and highly respectful feeling about Buddhism. however, it never occurred me to relate the image with any part of our body. i see the whole body as sacred. all about the human being when concerning to the human's nature (real nature) is divine. i know gregory gallo very well and i am absolutely sure he would never ever be disrespectful with anything on this world. i could understand if the image were on the sole, it would be like stepping on Lord Buddha's image. i'm not saying you, that are upset with the use of the image, are right or wrong and i believe you were taught this couldn't be used like this. i do respect your oppinion and beliefs, but i couldn't read this and not come to give my oppinion. isn't the Buddhism that says that this material world is an illusion (to which i agree)? if that is so, isn't an image, even if an image of Buddha part of the material illusion? the real peace, love, respect is in our behaviour, in the way we treat our brothers and sisters. the real thing is love. art is an expression, an opinion and gallo's art deserves my highest respect, i am positive no disrespect was meant.

I agree with webrioter. Yes, the image is beautiful, but it is highly disrespectful to use the Buddha's image on a shoe. The Buddha is above us, and our shoes beneath our feet. I think you should be more respectful of the religious beliefs of others. I also think that you shouldn't be using religious images to sell your products. I would ask you to please stop using the image of the Buddha on any of your products, and to not use any religious images on your products at all. Putting the image of any leader of any religion on any non-religious item is sure to cause offence to most religious people. This is especially true of shoes. The message that Gods can be worn on our feet is completely wrong and unacceptable. There should be a law to stop you doing this.
