Tragically, they lost to opposing Incan hordes led by the cruel Spanish Conquistadores. The site remains sacredly significant today. The Inca at Caral, Peru, the first ever Mother city of the Americas, established more than 4600 years ago, lived peacefully for over 1,000 years. They didn't practice sacrifice of humans or animals. A truly evolved society. Alex ~

Fascinating culture, the Inca. While the Spanish were indeed "cruel," so was every other culture on the planet at that time...including the Inca...who practiced human sacrifice on children. Nevertheless, a very interesting subject! 5 stars.
