The work above is a modern representation of the first degree tracing boards of old. It is filled with metaphor and symbolism, fluent to all master masons. The First Degree Tracing boards were created as visual aids created to illustrate the meanings and principals of Freemasonry as taught within the degrees. The symbolism is very Western, but the symbolism has been adapted for the modern mason.

Symbolism Part 2

Yes it is a beautiful piece, and almost spot on. It's not a sun on the pillar it is fire. Very nice also.

The sun looks cool on one of the pillars but isn't it supposed to be something else?

Symbolism

I think this piece is beautiful, and near perfect. I would caution that some of the placement of certain elements are misleading as to their meaning. Some items here, which are prominent in older tracing boards, are now in places where other things should be. This can be misleading. Not a big deal... just an observation. Great job, would love to see the next 2.
