Masterpiece Cats

Welcome to Masterpiece Cats where where I insert more than a dozen cat breeds into some of the most loved masterpieces in the world. I also do cats whose origin I have no clue about because that’s the kind many of us own, including me. You will find most of them under the American Short Hair cat section. I must admit I've learned a lot about cats doing this, but I certainly am no expert, so if you have any corrections or advise, please feel free to contact me.

This idea of putting cats into famous art originated back in 2001 right after the idea of inserting dogs into famous art came to me. I’ve been working with this theme ever since, in addition to my own art. In 2000, I was honored to be a featured artist in the book Decorative Painting for Fun and Profit by Susan Young.

As with the dogs, I started with Mona Lisa by Da Vinci and Starry Night by Van Gogh and expanded from there to include Monet's beautiful lily paintings, Queen Elizabeth by Nicholas Hilliard, the romantic paintings by Waterhouse, and several others.

So now some of the most popular artwork in the world has become a beautiful background for your favorite cat breed.

My original shop on another POD is located at: Kitty Cat Designs that includes a few “masterpiece” cats although I hope to have many more here as time permits.. If you have a special request for a certain breed of cat (of the ones that I do or you can offer your own photo to be used), all you have to do is send me the URL and request to heartbridge@tampabay.rr.com.
