Mermaid Eclipse! Earlier this year while out in the middle of the ocean, I unexpectedly saw an eclipse at sea. It was amazing, and definitely inspired this painting. The corona of the eclipse is mirrored in the eyes of the mermaid - the red glow really does occur sometimes when the sea is lit by the eerie light of an eclipse.... My own original acrylic painting.
