The design adapted from the cover of a Dutch folio book, Alle de Wercken, by Jacob Cats, published in 1726 - one of the earliest examples of the exquisite work of Johannes Stofvoet (1687-1749), the renowned Dutch bookbinder. Bound in brown leather, and stained calf leather tooled in gold, panel design with the centerpiece made of small tools, spine with raised bands. The white rose is added to the original design.
