Have you ever dreamt in a SGML-based markup language? Have you ever laughed at someone who claimed “You just can’t do something like that with web-based technologies?” With a focus on Web-based, presentation-layer development, this position will contribute to the design and implementation of a number of bleeding edge, never-before-seen interfaces. Candidates must have extensive, professional-grade knowledge of and experience with client-side technologies, including DHTML, HTML, XHTML, JavaScript, and CSS. Candidates must be intimately acquainted with discrepancies between various standards-compliant and non-standards-compliant browsers and know how to build interface widgets that exploit the strengths of their DOMs and circumvent their weaknesses.

This position will join the Engineering Team and will work very closely with designers, product managers, and other engineering groups to help us achieve entirely new, unprecedented standards in user interaction. Responsibilities

  • Convert marketing requirement documents into wireframes
  • Convert gorgeous mockups into clean, lean, and mean standards-compliant XHTML
  • Apply highly sophisticated JavaScript libraries to a highly interactive web page

Requirements

  • Experience building web-based applications and/or highly interactive web sites
  • In-depth knowledge of DHTML, HTML, JavaScript, and CSS
  • Deep understanding of cross-browser compatibility issue
  • An intuitive, supernatural understanding of the DOM
  • Ability to work with minimal direction and voice outrageously creative solutions to ordinarily problems
  • Experience coding OO applications preferred (ideally with ASP.NET)
  • Familiarity with IIS preferred
  • Familiarity with current HCI principles and theories preferred
  • Graphic design experience and knowledge of PhotoShop and Illustrator preferred
